Q. Is it possible to work while being a student in the UK?
Ans:- For courses in the UK that extends for over 6 months, the permission to work on part-time basis will automatically be approved. Accordingly, one can take up any part-time job and can invest upto 20 hours a week; during vacations there will be no specific hour limitations.
Q. Can any of my family members work in the UK during my course span?
Ans:- Again, it depends upon the duration of your course. Normally, for those courses with over one year duration, any of your accompanying family member, i.e. husband / wife / son / daughter will be automatically given a passport stamp permitting him/her to work during your course span in the UK.
Q. Is it possible to stay back in the UK for work after course completion?
Ans:- As per UK’s Full Work Permit Scheme, staying in the UK even after your course completion for work related affairs is not always justified. However, it doesn’t apply, if you are staying here for practical training or work experience. Also, if you have been absorbed by a company, the employer himself may apply for your work permit, this as per “Training and Work Experience Scheme”.
